New line, new hoses, new calipers are on.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Now just waiting on my rotors and pads ( For over 2 weeks now because “non-essential”).

My grille inserts and woodgrain vinyl for the new van were deemed essential though, so I got those right away.....

I assume you are buying from rockauto? I was able to get ball joint pretty quickly from them a couple of weeks back...

Na, they still function perfectly, don’t let the surface rust fool you.

They’ve only got 50k on them, WI winters just make them look like hell in a hurry.

Unfortunately, no. They’re coming from Amazon as Rockauto no longer carries my Stoptech brakes.

Centric = StopTech, FYI

I am starting to worry more and more about the authenticity of OEM and name brand parts on Amazon. No real evidence but from many articles its seems a good portion of auto parts might be of unknown origin. I previously thought getting sold by and shipped by Amazon was the answer but now I am not so sure. I bought some OEM Honda control arm bushings last year that I still need to install but I got to thinking,  where did Amazon get these?  Are they a Honda dealer?

Whereabouts in WI are you? I’m not so far from the border here in MN

FYI, already known. Rockauto stopped carrying the Stoptech slotted rotors and Akebono pads that I run on it for better towing performance.

Honestly don’t worry about it. If it’s a good quality part and it functions properly, I could care less where or who makes it.

I discovered long ago that “name brand” =/= “good”, nor does “cheap” = “bad”.

Just north of Madison.

Sorry, reread that and realized it sounded completely dickish.

Rock stopped carrying the slotted Stoptechs and Akebono pads I like for towing, so I had to order elsewhere.

No problem, figured you already knew, but some don’t so I was throwing it out there.  I’m a big fan of Centric premium blanks w/ Akebono pads for my SUV’s, good choices all around.

Cool.  When we moved up I’m sure we blew through Madison.  WI was one of the prettiest states as we were moving up, especially after dealing with Illinois.  We wound up spending the night in Eau Claire

Just did finished off my shock/strut replacement. Though I did not like the look of the front passenger brake hose, I think that’s going to have to go on the list (though I’m not sure I want to do it, may just take it to the shop for that, and a brake flush).

I love the Akebono pads, but was having issue warping rotors when towing or driving hard.

I upgraded to the slotted Stoptechs and was able to go 70k miles before a collapsed hose caused my caliper to get stuck.

Surprisingly I only broke one line, which happened to be the short driver’s side line. Everything came apart well considering the 260k miles on the lines and hoses.

Finally had the common hose collapse, which ended my caliper and pads.
